Sterling silver, ribbon
Constructed, cold-joined
L 9.8 cm x W 3.4 cm/Ribbon: L 52 cm x W 3.0 cm

My ex-husband used to say “Go Big or Stay Home”, so I’m finishing off
the Year of Jewelry 2009 with a super-sized version of the Marquise
Pendant.  This started off as an experiment to see if the basic
marquise shape would translate to a bangle, but I haven’t worked out
the kinks to that yet.

I also decided to give the ribbon necklace another try, although
again, it’s technically uneconomic to make.  Ah well, I wanted to
finish up the year in style!  LOL

More photos and other pieces in this series can be seen on my blog, a wrapturous blog.  Comments are always welcome!  I wish you and those close to you a very Happy New Year, filled with
enough challenge to keep you interested, and enough joy to keep you
inspired!  Thanks for looking!

Week 52-Woven and Braided Necklace

Woven braid necklace  I can finally post this.  This was made as part of a Christmas exchange between three of us so I had to sit on it until after the 25th.  It's two 18 gauge wires woven together and then woven again into a braided centerpiece.   Whew!  I can't believe I made it through a whole year and, although not usually on time, I managed to post something every week.  I've really enjoyed participating in YOJ and seeing everyone's creations, and I'm looking forward to 2010.

Turquoise Bangle

I never really like reading anything as to how to make an item. =d Besides the original jewelry artists didn't have books! =D With the patience of my husband, and my desire to test myself…this is the results! =)

The cab measures 2 7/8" x 1 3/4", and is bezel set. Once the bezel was created, I soldered it to the half round. The stone was set after clean up, and the bangle was shaped.

Thank you for looking,

As a final note, I would like to thank everyone for sharing their talents. All of you have inspired and sparked lots of muses. May 2010 be even better! =)
