Melissa Muir – Week 35

Fire_opal_pendant
I made this pendant using a gradation of 3 fire opals. The stones are so pretty all by themselves, but when you use the three colors together they are just stunning. The picture doesn't show it very well but the top one is pretty red, the middle is orange and the bottom one is a beautiful yellow/orange.

The stones are all 4 mm and are tube set.

Week 35 – Amy Brown – Toujour Amour

Week 35-Toujour Amour Lately I am fascinated with creating  bracelets and necklaces with an untold amount of dangles.  I'm having fun creating and wearing them.

This particular bracelet is made with grey swarovski glass pearls, heart charms, two word charms "always love" (that I cut with my disc cutter, stamped the words, and used acrylic Week 35-Toujour Amour 1 paint to darken the letters), a french coin, acrylic faceted beads, various freshwater pearls, brass beads, vintage beads, a sterling silver heart that I wore on a necklace since I can ever remember (that's how vintage it is) and a large heart that was on a piece of my mother's jewelry.

You'll hear me coming with this bracelet on.

Netted Beach Glass Cuff – Week 35

NettedBeachGlassCuff2

Another beach glass project…the cuff is premade and I covered it with coiled 26 ga copper. Then I just went back and forth with 22 ga copper and "netted" the beach glass. Very zen…

YOJ09-35 Moonrise – Dianne Karg Baron

YOJWk35-Moonrise-Main Moonrise (2009)
Pendant, Sterling silver, fine silver, rainbow moonstone, indicolite (blue) tourmaline
Constructed, cold joined
L 6.4 cm x W 1.8 cm x D 1.2 cm (widest point)

On my annual trek to Bancroft this year, I decided to focus on
buying cabachons.  I have a huge stash of beads, but I’ve been moving
away from working with them.  The last time I was in Bancroft, I bought
some really nice cabs from one particular vendor, and was really happy
to see them again.  This year, I scored a bunch of beautiful
tourmaline, prehnite, kyanite, garnet and rainbow moonstone.

As a member of the Etsy Wire Artisans Guild,
I’m supposed to make a monthly “theme” piece.  Well… I’ve been a bit
lax about it because of my other commitments.  So I’m playing a bit of
catch up.

It’s been a couple of years since my last attempt at a multi-stone pendant
That attempt was… adequate… but really not up to the standard I like to
set for myself.  So, for the EWAG’s “Blue Moon” theme, I decided I’d
take another stab at it.

Read more of the story behind this piece on my blog, a wrapturous blog.  Thanks for looking!

Week 35 – Silver Goddess Pendant – Randi/Dax58

GoddessSP2 I can’t believe I forgot to post another week! I am getting caught up
in my new Etsy store, and preparing my new classes, and my brain is
just getting fried a bit! So, I love how this came out, and I’m going
to have to more in the same style. The pendant is made up of 3 silver
ring shapes (2 circles, one oval), hammered and textured, and soldered
together. To me, it looks a little bit like a very abstract goddess. I
added matching textured bail (a close up view is shown on my blog), and hung it from a silver snake chain

Comments are always welcome… check out StudioDax for more about my teaching, My Jewelry Blog for more on my FSOJ projects, and My Etsy Shop for more of my jewelry.  Thanks,  Randi

Week 35-Copper Viking Knit Necklace

Kazuri copper viking Kazuri copper viking2 When I'm at shows I often work on a piece of Viking knit to keep my hands busy.  I ended up with this long piece of copper so I pulled it and pulled it until it bacame a neck chain.  I made the end cones with 18 gauge wire wrapped around my round nose pliers.  I added a slide made with a Kazuri bead and a large smoky quartz drop.  Then I lightly oxidized everything.  I'm not too sure about the hanger-I'm thinking I would like to see the pendant sitting a little closer to the chain.  C&C welcome.  If you're not familiar with Kazuri beads, take a minute to read the story here.

I am now officially caught up!
