Summer Heat / Hot Hot Hot
usually generates a wet sensation, dripping wet 🙂
A pair of pearls and amethysts earrings that fall in cascades.
summer heat
The colours I’ve used aren’t hot ones but we get a lot of butterflies in our garden in the summer. This was a piece that I did on time but didn’t get round to posting on time! It was part of a gallery exhibition and has now been sold which I’m really pleased about. The frame is hammered sterling silver with finer sterling silver wire wrapped round. I’ve woven aquamarine, turquoise and freshwater pearls onto the wings. Thanks for looking!
Week 37 – Silver and Pearl Bangle Bracelets
Hmmm…not such a great photo.
A set of three bangle bracelets, using sterling silver and Freshwater Keishi pearls. I used 24 gauge 1/2 round, 24 and 18 guage round sterling silver wire. Oxidized to finish. -Nancy
Week 37 – Opulence
Here is the promised full Monty. All of my recent elements in one necklace. This is a fairytale piece I’ve held in my dreams since childhood. Perhaps that is why my journey has led me to jewelry work. The small girl inside me feels satisfied, and yet reaches for more. What can I do? More it is……..
Comments, questions, critiques all welcome. Thanks for looking. Perri
week 37 – more earrings
Simple pair of earrings using pearls, sterling spacers and vintage Swarovski nailheads in "Desert" strung on extra fine soft-flex.
Week 37 Eni Oken
This little netted basket holds a large coin stone. The net is covered with tiny gemstones, so dense you can’t even see the stone underneath from the front. But who cares, when you put the necklace on, the thing glitters like a treasure chest. On the back, you can see the stone peeking through the "torn fishnet stocking" effect. Goldfilled wire, jasper coin, hessonite, spessartite, garnet, citrine. To see more pictures, go to my Journal: Netted Basket pendant.

Week 37 – Ellen/rubystar
It’s (belated) hearts and flowers for me this week! I’m getting ready for a show where I sold lots of earrings last year, so that’s what you’ll be seeing from me this month!
The flowers are formed into shape using 18g Argentium wire and then fused into a chain. I like the airy feel of these and although they are long, they’re very lightweight. Had a hard time getting them to hold still for a picture though! LOL

Week 37 — Cool in Hot Pink
I have been asked to teach a basic jewelry class to a group of 10-year old girls for a birthday party in two weeks! I only had one day to make a proposal, and I swiftly put together this very easy and popular style to show the kid’s mother what it would look like, and to give her an example of the type of beads available for that class. I had leftovers from a class that I had taught to teenage girls only the day before, and I thought that the hot pink looked quite fresh and appealing for young girls.

Summer heat
These are just the kind of earrings that I’d wear to the beach to go with my striped beach bag. Corrugated 30g silver was domed and accented with tiny kyanite beads. Finished with LOS.
Coral Reef Treasures
Of all the pendants in this style that I have done, this is my absolute favorite. I made this pendant back in August. It sold the same day I listed it for sale and I was disappointed to see it go, but happy for the sale at the same time. It went to a customer of mine in New Zealand, who also have the seahorse necklace I posted in the YOJ in July.
The quality of the fossilized coral in this pendant is outstanding! I wish I could get more of it but so far my attempts have been unsuccessful.
I’ve had so much fun experimenting with the needle lace work!
