Week 14 – April Showers – Ellen/rubystar
This was going to be "april showers" with blue Swarovski raindrops hanging from each chain, but the siam Swars were calling to me, so this is more like "ruby showers" instead!
Sorry for the late post, but somehow I forgot this one!

Jean Power- week 14
I’m so late!
I got behind- then went on holiday and am now working like mad to catch up.
I bought these beads a while ago as I love the colours and was waiting for just the right project to use them in. The last issue of Step-by-step wire had a nice bracelet project in it so on a wire day with friends I quickly adapted it and made this. It was really quick and easy and I got to wear it that evening.

Week 14 – Polymer Clay Pendants – Lucinda/PurpleRhian
Something totally new from me this week – nd I am reasonably pleased with how they turned out! For more information please visit my blog.
Playing with wire
I skipped the first week of this quarter so I’m playing catch up. Been playing with wire to get a better feel for it. Made some simple rings.
Week 14: Lynn
April Showers, bring May Flowers. I should have posted what I did for week 13 here!
Instead, I’ll show off some shiny silver rings that have been joined with various shades of jasper (I LOVE these large-hole beads!). The toggle is just a really simple bar and ring that I made up, but it works with the overall design.
Wk 14 – lampwork bangle
I bought these Lampwork beads a few weeks ago from Linda Rase when i met her at a craft show we were both selling at.
I bought quite a few beads from her but this was my favourite set. I loved the organic feel of them. They remind me of the beach and the sea, and I’m not sure if you can tell from the picture but some of the blue is translucent adding greater depth to the beads.
I wanted a simple design to make sure the beads were the highlight of any design. The spring edition of step-by-step wire had a lovely simple bangle by Kerry Bogert which i thought was just perfect for the beads.
April Showers Bring May Flowers – FINALLY!
I couldn’t let myself not be on theme for this one even if it did mean being late….I seem to be using these tiny glass flower beads alot lately and the resulting pieces have a very delicate look about them because of it. Just a simple little bracelet embossed with this well known phrase……I’m still new to LOS and I should have patinated the word segments first rather than try and clean up the rings inbetween….now I know better….
This bracelet goes well with the little floral pendants I made in week 6 so now I’ll be making some earrings
to match….
Week 14 – “Captured Malachite”
I hurried to finish weeks’ 14 and 15. I forgot that Malachite hates LOS solutions. It takes the polish right off the stones. For those who don’t know, Malachite is a soft, porus stone and needs to be handled with care. I learned my lesson…again. =|
Anyway, I used 16 gauge sterling silver for the frame and textured it. I will do the design again with other stones. -Nancy
