Week 46-All kinds of Copper
This necklace really was so much fun to make. I loved this bead the moment I saw it and knew it would be perfect for my friend. The bead had a large enough hole to accomodate the copper tubing. I took a couple of washers and riveted them together. I added the small donut to highlight the green in the bead and made the coiled bead and links. I like the links because you can adjust the length of the necklace.
Running Water (what week?)
I am not sure exactly what week "running water" falls on. However, here is my simple take on the subject. I was originally going for something much more full and luscious, however, I like this piece as well.
I'm quite proud of this piece. I first soldered the frame and then hammered a washer of 12 gauge silver, soldered that closed and then soldered it onto the frame. The wire wrapping is all in 24 gauge and the beads are tigers eye. This is a gift for Christmas.
Golden Curry India week 46
Indian culture brought many thoughts and so since I enjoy cooking so much, curry came to mind. Please enjoy and comment freely.
Twisted Wire Necklace by Eva Sherman – Week 46
I always wanted to take a trip to Jaipur, India and visit the gem markets. I imagine that precious and semi precious stones are just dripping out of baskets and that was the inspiration for this piece. I wrapped and twisted wire with yellow jade, blue quartz, brown MOP, a few glass rondelles and pearls.
India Culture
Lucky Buddha
Instead of making a piece based on the culture of India…I researched stones mined there. After weeding through the plethora of stones I settled on Onyx.
Two Onyx cabs have been bezel set with scalloped bezel wire…and…I experimented with making clean streamlined bead caps. The focal is a carved Jade Buddha.
Once the components were complete I brought the piece together with basic byzantine. And completed the necklace with an "S" hook.
Thank you,

MOMMAKAT: Moon & Star
This pendant is mixed metals, copper and sterling. The sterling moon is 30Ga soldered onto 24GA copper. Using 30GA silver on 24GA copper is tricky, as the sterling wants to melt much faster than the solder did. In the polishing, the tip of the moon got torn off, so I trimmed the bottom to match. I think the moon looks fine that way, and it’s probably better because the edges were kindof sharp before. Overall I’m very pleased how it turned out.
