Theme: Waterfall, Mighty Waters
This pair of earrings combines a peacock green freshwater pearl with a myriad of tiny chains which dangle from the focal point (the pearl). These little chains are light enough to feel any move and move freely and fiercely in the wind or with any step the wearer will take, which I hope symbolises the tumultous waters of a waterfall. I chose a peacock green pearl because I have visited (and bathed in) several waterfalls in the French Caribean whose waters were an Emerald green. |
Week 25 – weirdlywired
While cleaning off my table (and surrounding disaster areas) I came to realize I’ve had this sweet little piece of glass, waiting and wanting to be something. And now here it is! This is one of our very own Lyn Owen’s pieces from earlier this year. I love her glass work, and once I get it, I’m afraid of not doing it the justice it deserves. I really like this though…it’s simple setting really lets the colors in the glass shine thru! I’ll probably try to do a better job of rounding out the wire "V" piece to match the bail that is part of the glass…was in a hurry to get it done so I could wear it to volleyball!
Thanks for looking and any feedback you may have. My journal will be updated soon…
Cheers,
Angie S
More Corrugation – Pam K
Well, I can make a vague connection with waterfalls – just! – these remind me of the old fashioned washer boards …..and they get water falling over them don’t they? (LOL)
More corrugation – I love doing it and I’m still having fun with the simple geometric shapes – I like the minimalistic look of these pieces.
Cheers, Pam. (kmap on the forum)
Waterfall
Well maybe this is stretching it a bit – the barrel has more to do with the “waterfall” than the necklace does!
I love these organic stones though alternating with sterling silver rings and turquoise, pearl and crystal dangles.
Week 25 Jacki/stefannsgirl
Another bracelet. This time with a few of Samma’s beads and a few others.
Comments and critiques are welcome and appreciated as usual!
Waterfalls Sheila
Just realized I forgot week 25 so I quickly did these up for theme only. Sorry, they are a bit sloppy.
Simple Elements Continued
First Pair: Amethyst w/ tanzanite swarovski
Second Pair: Garnet w/ topaz swarovski
Waterfall-ish?
Well, this piece was made ages ago. I’ve been crazy busy the last two weeks with my niece and my ten y/o cousin visiting, and before that I couldn’t find my camera cord! Sigh…. Anyways, the components to most of this piece came from morcco! I created a necklace set during last year’s FSOJ for a friend’s wedding, and while they were honeymooning, they bought me a bunch of beads from morocco… I *thing* the blue and green rocky ones are dyed lava stone. There’s also turquoise, a lot of bali silver, and some fun eni style netting! The upper strand is russian jade…
week 25 – finally on theme!
Even though I’m a few weeks late, I’m on the waterfall theme. Made with chalcedony, freshwater pearls, sterling chain, beads, wire and spacers. I also added some aqua stones of unknown origin and a couple of swarovski bicones. I have had this idea in my head for months now, although my original idea incorporated green chalcedony, not the aqua.
Jean Power- week 25- another beaded bead
Yet another beaded bead! I have received so many lovely comments on these but do feel very guilty that I haven’t put up any wirework for so long (and we’ll ignore the fact I don’t think I’ve ever been on theme!) especially when I see all the lovely work that everyone else is doing.
I do love making these beaded beads- and my dream of having enough to do a whole necklace is gradually creeping closer and closer!
