Week 28-fold forming
I love, love this piece. A very wide piece of copper; fold formed into this great bangle. The same process as the sterling silver earrings. Made at the Retreat
Week 28: Poppy Jasper pendant
Ok, this didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to. In fact it is VERY
different from what I had in mind, but this ain’t bad either ;-).
Made with Poppy Jasper and sterling silver.
Week 28 – Cancer Zodiac Sign – Not on theme
I cant believe I am a quarter behind =( While my original goal wasn’t to be on time each week, it still frustrates me a bit that I am so far behind. But it’s not cause I’ve been lazy.
Well, for this one I am off theme too. As I have said before, I am not a fan of the zodiac and only for zodiac signs I have allowed myself to be off theme.
This ring is my new favorite and I am debating whether to keep it or not (although it doesn’t fit me perfectly) I’ve been wanting to do this one for a while. I got the color inspiration from a Dior ring I saw in InStyle magazine from the beginning of the year. (sorry for the crappy pic of my inspiration, it was taken with my phone camera)
I used Carnelian, Emerald, Prehnite and Peridot with goldfilled wire and a few goldfilled beads. The technique is the same as in my Big Cluster Wire ring tutorial, but I’ve used tinier stones for a more delicate look.
Jean Power- week 28- felt bracelets
These were made to represent using texture in jewellery for the book I’m currently working hard on.

Sterling and Sodalite Earrings
I got such great comments on my 1st stamping attempt, I kept practicing! These are still a bit uneven, but I do like them. I will be making more, for sure…this style seems so versatile with lots of color possibilities.
Melissa Muir – Week 28
Okay, this is the last post from me tonight. I will catch the rest of them up a little later.
This piece is such a special piece to me. Back in February, the Preeclampsia Foundation director called me and asked if I would be willing to make a piece to be auctioned off at the annual fundraiser which will be held in Washington, DC this year.
The angel is made of sterling silver. The stones in her are a BEAUTIFUL rainbow moonstone and her head is rutilated quartz. I didn’t realize it until after I had her finished that rutilated quartz is also called Angel Hair. What a fitting stone. 😉 I just had to laugh when I read that.
This will be a very special event for me for many reasons.
First, for those of you that may not already know, my second daughter, Kelsi, was born 4 months early because I developed Severe Preeclampsia at only 23 weeks. She was born weighing only 13 oz and measured 8 1/2" long. She lived for only 2 1/2 days before passing away in my hands. All of this happened while we lived in the washington, DC area. If you would like to read more about Kelsi, you can visit her web page.
Second, I have been asked to also design the new awarness pin for the foundation. This pin has a similar meaning as the pink ribbon is to the Breast Cancer Awareness movement. I cannot show the pin yet, as it is going to be debuted at the fund raiser in 2 weeks. I will be sure to post about it as soon as I am able.
So in just less than 2 weeks I will be in Washington, DC (HOME, I love and miss that place dearly) and I hope to raise a bit of money with this piece. There are more pictures of this piece on my design journal.
As always, comments and suggestions are always welcome.
Water Lilly
Delicate necklace that still makes a statement. Made entirely of sterling and fine silver. Stones used are labradorite, mystic topaz and wonderful ink iolite (including two perfect briolettes). All oxidised and polished. The pendant is 7cm long and 4cm wide. More pictures in my gallery.
Thank you 🙂

Week 28 Sheila
Just catching up. I’m sticking with metal for a while, but there is some wire work in there, besides, I’m having a good time. These earring were fun and the bracelet needed them.
Cancer Zodiac Sign
SorryI’m late. I’ve been singing the computer blues here. I blew out the power supply. But now I am back in business.
The pendant has an Idaho opal from the Spencer opal mine. They are hard earned if you mine for them. It is not digging! It is chipping the vugs out of the hard matrix.
The pendant also has garnet, peridot, lapis and silver and white fresh water pearls.

Cancer- Not on topic
I’ve made a ton of stuff getting ready for this show on Saturday. This piece is not on topic though. However, I managed to make a tutorial for it as well (a break from making) LOL..
NO poem to go with it yet.
