Melissa Muir – Week 28
This is another set of beads from my friend Laura Critchfield. Again, they are the most beautiful caramel color and they just shine. She uses only a hothead torch. Her talent is just amazing.
Week 28-Renaissanse-Beach Bliss
I wonder what a trip to the beach was like during Renaissanse times???
Well, the beach is my all-time favorite place to be and I have wanted to make a beachy bracelet for awhile. I riveted brass sheet to a piece of ss sheet, then riveted two pieces of ss sheet with brass tubing between the pieces. Connected loops around the tubing to connect to the easy links and coiled links. I wrapped, in a free-form manner, copper wire around 14 gauge ss wire and used a coiled link for the clasp. I placed a custom order with Peppermintcharms for my Beach is Bliss photo charm and she did a fantastic job. Other beach-theme charms were also added. I really mixed my metals in this piece and love the outcome.

Week 28: My first PMC project “Compassion & Gratitude”
This is about an
awesome teacher who taught me how to use Precious Metal Clay. I have written about her in my blog post. Some of you here already know her through JAN's forum :-).
To read about her, to find the link to her awesome work, and to see more pictures of this pendant, go to my blog:

A Lot Less
I redid the braid cuff using about 25 feet of 22g wire and about 200 less beads. I think this one will be a little more budget friendly. My larger one used close to 60 feet. Thanks for looking. C&C always welcomed. MY Web Site My Store
Freeform Slab Wrap – Week 28
Another slab from my new collection, this one I'm pretty sure is jasper. This project took 3 attempts before I could get the stone stabilized in the frame, no wonder I'm afraid to use silver! The frame is a continuous piece of 14 ga copper, hammered on the front side only. Another lesson learned; do not anneal wire while the stone is in the frame, the stone will explode!
Week 28 – Yeah, it’s a Lampwork Ring! – Randi/Dax58
This is a gorgeous bead – I love the "swirling" colors, it goes
with everything. The disc on the bottom is a Thai Silver bead cap, and
because it is a smaller bead, I used a very small disc on the top. I'm
not sure, but I think this may belong on my finger!
Comments are always welcome… check out StudioDax for more about my teaching, My Jewelry Blog for more on my FSOJ projects, and My Website for more of my jewelry. Thanks, Randi
Summer Florals
The color yellow is supposed to be "the" color for summer. So off I went to dig through my stash. I pulled out yellow jade, flower jade and new jade.
Using two of Eni's techniques the look was pulled together with sterling silver wire and beads. The chain has some 14k gold-filled rings tossed in with the sterling silver.
Thank you,
Deborah aka Sneekbead
Week 28-Druzy and Amethyst Pendant
Ava's recent postings motivated me to dig out this little piece of druzy that I've had for years. The stone is 15mm X 20mm and it changes color from purple to peacock depending on the viewing angle. I usually wrap with dead soft wire but since I knew I couldn't tumble this I used 22 gauge square half hard instead. I find it frustrating to shape half hard wire around small pieces so I used one of Rick's Bezelforms which helped a lot in getting the the top and bottom joins even. The dangles are amethyst. Thanks for looking.
YOJ09-28 Prong Set Ring – Dianne Karg Baron
Prong Set Ring (2009)
Sterling silver, cubic zirconium
Size 7
Constructed, cold joined
Life is crazy busy right now as I finish preparations for
Haliburton. So this week’s entry is a variation on Jorgen
Greftegreff’s Prong Ring (published originally in the April 2001 issue
of The Wire Artist Jeweller).
The good news is that my wire arrived finally, and I didn’t need to reorder anything! *Whew*
My computer access is going to be limited for the next two weeks, so
while I’ll try to post YOJ pieces on time, more than likely it will
wait until I get back.
Comments are welcome, as always. More of my YOJ is available on my blog, a wrapturous blog. Thanks for looking!
Week 28 – Goth Flower
I think the best description of this is steampunk sparkle. Dark annealed steel has a wonderful shimmery blue cast, emphasized by the fire polish AB and swarovski in the center. Robbie's Spring flower tutorial was a really good fit for the materials, and the project was a good learning experience. I'm doing a short description this week because I'm posting while on vacation. All the technical details are in my blog, Silver and Crystals and Beads, Oh, My!
Your comments and critiques are always welcome. Thanks for looking.
