Week 32 – Leo
For this one I couldn't even find something that I could pretend was on theme!
These are a pair of post earrings I made for myself, inspired by Robbie's flower-making technique.
Leopardskin Jasper, Black Onyx Rosary
I found these 6mm leopardskin jasper a while ago, but never had any creative urges jump out at me until I started cranking out rosaries lately!
6mm leopardskin jasper, 10mm faceted black onyx, teeny freshwater pearls, balinese silver spacers, triple-wrapped sterling wire links, handcast sterling crucifix and center.
Melissa
Melissa Muir – Week 32
Another wire wrapped penant, this time using a black onyx cab and sterling silver wire. It seems as though it has been ages scince I have made any wire jewelry. It sure felt good to make a few new pieces.
Jean Power- week 32- wrapped loops belt
A belt using amethyst (?) beads, jump rings and silver wire to illustrate wrapped loops for my new book.
EDITED TO ADD: you’re both right- it was fluorite- I had a complete brain melt-down trying to rememebr what it was- thanks for helping me out

Happy Birthday Me!!!
When I fired this cabuchon I decided it was for me several years ago. It has been waiting until now to be prong set. This is not your average prong!!! This stone called for jazzed up prongs, contemporary in nature. I am in the process of creating the necklace. It shall be a future post. I love the colors and the electric vibes!!
It’s not Leo! Off topic
This is an agate arrowhead that used to be on a gold stick pin. Many years ago, the gold stick pin part fell apart. I saw Judy Feskun’s wire wrapped heart tutorial and I thought it could be used to wrap the arrowhead, the TINY arrowhead. I had thought to make a stick pin but decided the guage of silver that I used would not support a stick pin, so I made a broach/pendant. This view shows the pin and the bail.
The second photo shows the front of the pin.
Another late one
Not on theme but at least Peridot is August’s birthstone. I tried to make something a little more complicated but they’re still very simple.
Leo Zodiac Sign-It’s Just Earrings-Week 32
I thought I was off-topic this week, but the Leo Zodiac symbol looks suspiciously like a French earwire.
These earrings are a design by Andrea McLester. Although they are very simple, there are several skills that are involved….cutting the wire, smoothing the edges with a file, texturizing, and punching a hole on each end of the wire. You can add any embellishments you want from bead dangles, to chains, or to wire spirals,
Week 32
A simple bracelet, but I decided to try making a new link and I should have made an S. These buggers are too complex for a simple design, but they did dress it up a tad. Copper, blue opal and silver. I think I’ll LOS it.
Week 32 – Copper Prototype – Randi/Dax58
I’ve been doing the "San Mateo County County Fair" this week, and I’m not
too sure that "fair" folk are looking to buy jewelry – I think they’re
spending the $$ on the carnival and cotton candy! I am aligned with a
jewelry school, so I am an "artist in sitting" and I am doing demos
while people walk by. I decided to do some basic wire wrapping, and
I’ve been creating some copper wire prototypes of new designs, which I’ll be able to use for class samples. This is one
that I like – when I do it in silver, I will add some accent beads to
the spiral ends – right now, they look a little unfinished to me. For
reference – outer frame is 16g, inner element is 18g, and wrapping is
24g.
Comments are always welcome… check out StudioDax for more about my teaching, My Jewelry Blog for more on my FSOJ projects, and My Website for more of my jewelry. Thanks, Randi
