Monet Impressionism Week 3

Heather
I thought the color was very impressionistic.  Multicolor opalite!  Love it!

Week 3-Claude Monet-A Place to Create

La Maison de Monet a Giverny I found this beautiful Monet, La Maison de Monet à Giverny, and thought what a beautiful place to be able to go to find tranquility and to find inspiration.

Well, I may not have a home in Giverny but I have my own special place where I enjoy spending time making jewelry.Week 3-Pearly Pin

My pin is made from copper and silver with a lampwork flower and pearls to match.  The found object was given to me which is one of a pair…probably earrings.  I've had it for the longest time and finally knew that I wanted to use it on this piece.

week three – off theme

I've been feeling like I have no creativity lately, but I feel like maybe this pulled me through.  It's very simple, but it feels great on my wrist, and I think the stones are gorgeous!  It's made with 16, 20 and 28 gauge sterling wire and puff coin rhyolite beads.  Now to get caught up!

Off topic and late!

My camera died.  I finally got a replacement.  I am not much of a movie fan and I don't know much about artists.  I decided I would just try to have a project done each week.  I'm not doing so good thus far!  I bought this malachite egg last spring in Livingston, MT.  My challange was to cage it and make a pendant.  It has a  cap  of  28g sterling wire, woven on a frame of 20g, red coral and prehnite beads.

Week 3 – Earrings

Snowflakearings Following Corra's Snowflake Tutorial I made this pair of Sterling Silver Earrings.  It was easy to follow but tricky to make my fingers do what I needed them to do.  I worked on both of them together so that they would be consistant and equal.  I usually take one off to show friends what I did because of their small size they are easily dismissed until one gets a closer look.   The results were very nice and are currently my favorite pair of earrings to wear.  They seem to go with everything.

Week – 3 Shay

Mandala2
I've been yearning to do a mandala piece for about a year now.  This is my first one, and I really enjoyed making it.  Lots of delicate little beads (about  2.5-3mm for the most part) — well I should say delicate for what I'm used to!  I'd like to think that I may begin a mandala series, but I do tend to be one who moves rapidly from one style to another so who knows! Both the blue and teal beads are apatite, with 4 amethysts in the center.  I hope it radiates with the peace that I felt in making it.

Melissa Muir – Week 3

10ga_Challenge
A challenge was given on another forum I belong to. We were challenged to make a piece using 10 gauge wire. So all of the silver on this piece began its life as 10 gauge round wire. I pierced the copper design with nothing more than my jewelers saw. I love doing that stuff. I only broke one blade doing this one.  Not bad huh?

Week 3 – Feeling Blue – Randi/Dax58

BlueWrapped
I've been trying out new techniques, and I saw a project in a magazine
that I used as a starting place for this bracelet (apologies… I can't
remember who to credit!). I used heavy gauge silver to create 3
link components, wrapping chalcedony beads and thinner silver wire
around the link "bar" and connecting with rings. I'm not thrilled with
it, but it actually looks pretty good on the wrist – it's a little more sparkle than I usually wear…

Comments are always welcome… check out StudioDax for more about my teaching, My Jewelry Blog for more on my FSOJ projects, and My Website for more of my jewelry.  Thanks,  Randi
