Posidon’s Daughter 6/21

Posidonsdaughter5I felt inspired to do a piece while sitting in the bead shop with my
beading friends on Friday. After looking through my vacation pictures I
wanted to do something in regards to the beach and sand and romance. I
was originally going for a pendent. It turned into a much LARGER neck
plate instead! I like it though. Just need to add a few jump rings and
a chain.
Materials:Posidonsdaughter2
copper, shells, more shell, cat's eye, seed beads, peach aventerine chips, red agate chips, arrogonite chips

YOJ09-25 Netted Pendant – Dianne Karg Baron

YOJWk25-NettedPendant Netted Pendant (2009)
Fine silver, sterling silver
L 6.0 cm x W 2.5 cm

I’m running a bit behind with my YOJ postings, but I have been
keeping up with doing the pieces.  My focus has been on preparing for
my class, which starts 8 days from today!  This netted pendant is one
of the projects for the class.

The good news is that I will get all of the tutorials done.  The bad
news is that I have no idea if my wire is going to arrive in time!

Read more about my misadventures getting supplies for my class on my blog, a wrapturous blog.  Comments are always welcome!

Week 27-Three Fun Earrings

Mauser_dotsdashesandlashes   What to do with those left over odds and ends!  This is another class proposal.  Three styles utilizing things leftover on my board.  All move and dangle with cold connections. The only heat is balling the ends.

Happy Fourth of July!

Week 25-Summer Solstice-Moonshine

Week 25-Moon View When I finished weaving these earrings, I realized that they reminded me of the moon.  I pictured myself at my favorite winery that has a fantastic view of the Briggs Hill Valley (Oregon), on a warm summer evening and watching the moon rise over the hills.  The weaving was done with anti-tarnish silver wire which I don't use very often but was very happy with the look against the copper frame.

Week 25 – Squares and Swarovski

Square Eararings web

I seem to be getting side-tracked a lot the last couple weeks. These were meant to be a quick project to get me back on track for time, and you can see how well that worked out. I'll get there, though.

I went back to silver,my true love, for these fancy earrings. The delicas and the Indian Pink swarovski rondelle make them very girly and a bit flashy, but the squares are a bit more tailored. I like that balance. I'm also in love with the latchback wires — where were they hiding all my life? I had no idea that they were only marginally more difficult to make than plain french wires.

More technical details are at Silver and Crystals and Beads, Oh My! I hope you'll take a minute to take a look. As always, comments and critiques are welcome, and thanks for looking.
