Mommy Pendant by Eva Sherman – Week 44
This is a fairly accurate rendition of a drawing my favorite 2 year old drew. I have her drawing on my fridge and she has my pendant on her bulletin board. I think I got the better deal 😉
Flower Child / Childs Play?
Wire turned in to coils and a few beads. No need to by extras like chain or clasp make a complet necklace with wire and 4 beads.

Child’s Play-Not so easy!-Week 44
I’ve been practicing my riveting skills and it is definitely not Child’s Play (a simple task) for me. So, I will continue to work on it but this is the result of my second attempt at riveting. I cut the copper triangle, filed all the edges, texturized it and punched two holes it it. Then I used copper and silver washers, texturized them and drilled holes in them. Holes were drilled in the copper to correspond to the holes in the washers. Then came the riveting. I added copper links and wrapped the leather with brass wire. It was great fun but will continue to work on my skills in this area.
Week 44
I’m getting close and still cheating. Another simple pendant of blue topaz (dyed) on ss chain.
Melissa Muir – Week 44
During the retreat I learned the finer art of braiding with wire. I also learned I have to practice more patience and pay more attention while I am working with some of these. All in all it was still great to learn. I love how these turned out and they weren’t all that difficult to do either.
Child’s Play……NOT!!!!! “Wild Child”
This necklace was not child’s play. The pendant was a previous entry. At that time I said that the necklace was in the making. It took quite a while, as I developed a lot of fire scale. I seem to be proficient at that!!! Then I made the chain out of fine silver. The designs on the silver sections are taken from the designs in the dichroic. I love this wild necklace!!!
Week 44 – Ocean Jasper Pendant – Randi/Dax58
Ok… not my usual style, but it has been fun creating this! For the
past few weeks, I have been a reviewer for Jim McIntosh’s new book called "Wiresmithing – The
New Look of Wire Art." It adds some basic metal smithing to wire
work – creating some new techniques which expand how to work with
wire… very interesting! So during my review process, I decided to
follow the process and see how the projects came out. I’m pretty happy
with my first project – a basic pendant with a beautiful
Ocean Jasper cab. The projects uses 16g square wire for the
prongs/frame. If you are interested in the techniques, I am happy to
recommend the book – you can find more out at http://www.wiresmithing.com .
Comments are always welcome… check out StudioDax for more about my teaching, My Jewelry Blog for more on my FSOJ projects, and My Website for more of my jewelry. Thanks, Randi
Child’s Play- Candy Bubbles
When I think of happy kids, I think balloons, bubbles, balls, and candy. I made these pieces and thought they looked like various types of candy. They are simple pieces but the are fun! Happy children at play!
