Fire and Ice/Fire to Ashes

Well it looks like I mixed week 34 and 35 up so I’m gonna post what should have been posted before and hopefully get on with it in a more orderly fashion…..a labradorite and chain bracelet. Until I purchased some labradorite at the last gem show I went to, I had no idea how wonderful these stones are. They are certainly on my shopping list for the next shopping trip……They really do have that “fire” within them…..Labradorite_4

smoldering embers

I can’t believe how far I’ve let myself get behind! I’ve been so busy making and teaching jewellery that I haven’t had the time to sit down and post pictures. So…. here is my first of several pictures in an attempt to catch up!

I made the chain for this bracelet out of s-hooks and jumprings (cut myself!). The stones are Botswana agate and smokey quartz, and I added some sterling silver spirals too.

Week 34 – ShaktiPaj

Forgive me, my friends! I’m going to cheat a bit by posting parts of a necklace. I say a bit because each one of the elements takes a little longer than your average full piece of jewelry – that is why I tend to post single beads a lot of the time. Don’t worry – there is a pay off at the end! Here’s the first installment: 2  views of the same bead, lots of small silver beads, 22, 26, and 28 g wire. Not bad for a start. I call it the Infinity Bead. Comments most welcome. Perri

week 34 – simple stringing

It’s not the most creative thing I’ve worked on, but I’ve got to catch up! I’m giving myself until this weekend to get caught up and then I can start being more creative 🙂

The necklace is continuous, and made with hill tribe rolled silver beads, swarovski crystal bicones in Indicolite and glass accent beads.

thanks for looking…

Week 34 – Eni Oken

Gem172c_2 And another netted bezel, this time constructed around a shell I bought in Hawaii (don’t know the exact name, if you do, email me!). Goldfilled wire, tiny vermeil beads and tourmalines around it. To see more pictures, go to Shell Net Pendant at the Journal.

Week 34: Corrugated earrings

Corrugatedtriangles_2 Corrugatedovals_3 Off theme and falling behind. That’s what I get for having too much of a social life. Yikes! I’ve had very little time to play at jewelry making, but did manage to fit in some fun at the bench with my new tool, the tube wringer. For these earrings I used 30-guage copper and sterling, treated with LOS, These mixed-metal triangles and ovals are very wearable, and make a soft, not-annoying jangle. Really fun to wear. Kind of industrial. The oval ones were a birthday present for my friend Jackie. The bracelet is almost finished, to appear in a later posting.

Sodiltependant1 Sodiltependant Another fused pendant, this one has a small sodalite cab, I was thinking it might work for a man, maybe on leather.
