Melissa Muir – Week 40
This piece took me forever to make. The bails kept melting as I tried to attach them. It was really frustrating. But in the end I really like how the piece turned out.
I call this one "Torched" I wanted the look to be as though it had melted. So I did that in two spots. First the outer frame is missing on the lower right and then to mimic that, I have chipped away at the bezel on the upper left corner, so it almost looks like burned paper. Of course, it isn't really torched as it is bright silver. The back on this one is stunning and most people actually like the back better than the front. I never know how to take those comments. 😉
You can see the back on my Design Journal.
Week 40-Discs & Washers-Sisi M
I know this design is nothing new but it incorporated a lot of different skills….skills that I keep needing to improve upon. It allowed me to use my disc cutter which I'm getting used to and texturizing my discs with texturized brass sheet. I riveted the turqoise and spacers onto the discs which I'm really enjoying. The washers were texturized and I drilled one hole in each one as they were also attached to the discs with chain on the other side. I cut the "laugh" charm, drilled a hole, punched the word. and filed the edges. I made all the jumprings on a wooden dowel and cut them with my saw.

Week 40 – “Bat Love” Pendant – Randi/Dax58
It's been a while since I've done any etching, but I taught a class in it last week, and had a blast… so when I got home, I created a couple of fun bats for a little Halloween fun!
Copper bat has been etched, dapped, and antiqued, then attached to leather neck cord.
This one is called "Bat Love" but a warped friend has renamed it "Bat with a Heart-On!" See my other bat pendant on my blog or Etsy store…
Comments are always welcome… check out StudioDax for more about my teaching, My Jewelry Blog for more on my FSOJ projects, and My Etsy Shop for more of my jewelry. Thanks, Randi
Week 40-Druzy pendants
I have this strand of fun little druzy beads but I wasn't sure what to do with them because they're 1/4" thick. If wrapped the traditional way, I would have ended up with a gazillion wires at the top to deal with. So this idea came from Dianne Karg Baron's celtic band ring. Druzy is so popular right now and I get comments every time I wear this so I wanted to come up with something a lttle simpler that would be saleable. The bezel on the second one is cut from 26 gauge silver sheet, stamped and soldered. The bead is simply secured with a balled pin. Thanks for looking.
Super Nova Bracelet
This bracelet was taught by Lisa Niven Kelly while we were at H.O.W. I've made a single component to wear as a pendant, and intend on making earrings.
Thank you,

Edwardian Pendant
I can't believe I finally was courageous enough to join the Year of Jewelry Project, especially with the holiday season coming up- hehe, but I'm so glad to be here.
I did follow the theme for the week which was Edwardian Jewelry. That type of jewelry was light, airy and feminine. I normally shy away from any 'airy' type designs, but this pendant brought me so much happiness and new discoveries in wire. I would do this type of piece again.
Celtic Braided Pendant – Week 40
And this was my fave project that I made with Perri! It is a wild horse jasper pendant with a 26 ga coiled wire braid made using a wigjig. The class was a blast and I love, love, love my pendant!!!!!
