Running Water-Meaning-Week 42
Running water. Do we think of water from the faucet, water running in a stream. I’m sure in many cultures Running Water has a special meaning. I thought I’d look to the Native Americans for the meaning of Running Water……Constant Life.
My piece was not designed with Running Water in mind but had started out designing the pendant as earrings….I’ve got another frame made and will make another pendant from it. Once I started wrapping it and putting the bead on, it became apparent to me that it was going to be too heavy for an earring….thus the pendant was born. The pendant sits on copper tubing that has been texturized and wrapped. Enjoy!

Greece Culture-Ma’at Feather Recycled-Week 41
I’m not on theme for Week 41 but I’m revisiting Week 33’s theme of Egyptian Culture. I had replicated a Ma’at Feather in copper which is the emblem of the Egyptian Godess embodying justice. I thought I could wear it as a pendant until a friend suggested I make it into a pin.
Thus, my pin using that piece. It looks great on my jean jacket. The heart is made my Thomas Mann and was a gift from a friend.

November’s Birthstone
Citrine Dreams
I opted out from doing a piece on the sun sign Scorpio and choose to bezel set some citrine cabs I have.
After creating the bezels I soldered them onto a frame made from 16 gauge sterling silver wire. Dear sweet Aden has me coil crazy…so I added a wire wrapped coil to this pendant as well. =) In order to highlight the citrine I added an ametrine faceted coin, smoky quartz, garnet and amethyst to the pendant. The final touch is wrapping half round gold-filled wire to the neck of the pendant.
Thank you,

Week 43 – Copper w/Inlay Pendant – Randi/Dax58
Well…. I have so many goodies hiding all over my workshop that I’ve
forgotten about! When scrounging around this weekend, I found some
small cabs and bezel cups, and decided to make up a few items. This
pendant is a textured and dapped copper disc, with a small
multi-stone inlaid cab. I forgot to angle the bezel cup when I soldered it on the disc, and you can see how the bottom of the
cup is set off a bit… I think it looks better in person than in the
photo, and since the quality isn’t up to par for selling, it’s my new
pendant!
Comments are always welcome… check out StudioDax for more about my teaching, My Jewelry Blog for more on my FSOJ projects, and My Website for more of my jewelry. Thanks, Randi
Byzantine Greece
When researching the culture of Greece I found the Byzantine Empire. Immediately the byzantine chain came into play. I used the 14 jump ring byzantine segment for the watch band. In between the segments are links made of furnace beads. Dangles give movement and interest.
