Week 13 Sunstone Flower Earrings
My muse seems to have disappeared along with my checkbook. I'm sure they'll both reappear sooner or later after their nice vacation. So this week I borrowed someone else's muse. I wanted to make a pair of earrings for myself with these pretty sunstone drops and I was stuck on what to do with them. These are more than a little inspired by Lisa Newton of Julida Designs whose work I adore. They're made with 20 and 26 gauge sterling wire. Thanks for looking.
Roman blobs?
I like blobs. These blobs are copper that I was playing around with one night. Soldering the silver piece on the back didn't turn out to be as easy as I thought it would be, so I don't normally show the back of the copper blobs.
Thanks for looking!

Week 11- piercing and sawing
Okay, this one is much nicer in person. I am going to LOS it, but trying to catch up. Two of the rivets turned out badly and the tubing is too small, but what I had.The entire piece is a prototype for a class, but it is too involved, so I am going to drop the front frame and do it with only two pieces instead of three. Need to show piercing and sawing and then the rivets. I am thinking that the student can pick their own design. Oh well, still about two weeks behind. I have made alot of things, but not much that challenged me and that is one of my personal goals this year.
Ancient Rome
Grecian Vases
To create the base for the earrings I used Nikki's tutorial techniques. With a few changes I was able to shape the earrings into what I think looks like vases. I used freshwater pearls for the focal. I then accented the bottom of the earrings with emeralds and pearls.
Thank you,

Week 13 – Herringbone Earrings
This simple pair of hoop earrings with post/loop fastening is woven in herringbone with three wraps between each crossing. The core wire is 20g sterling and the weaving is done with 28g sterling. The finished hoops are a bit less than an inch in diameter. This pair has no ornamentation apart from a tiny silver bead at point where the post is bent back, to camouflage the wire ends and joins. I plan to experiment with embellished versions of this design in the immediate future.
Because we have not yet resolved the computer issues with our box (where Photoshop lives) the photo was prepared for the web using Photoshop.com. Aside from some speed issues, which could be as much the fault of the tiny pink netbook as anything, it seems to work really well. I'll be taking the time to play with it much more in the next week or two.

Week 13 – Another Lampwork Ring – Randi/Dax58
Similar to last week, this is another lampwork bead ring… but for this one, I added a
handmade silver "cup" underneath the bead to set it off. I texturized
the silver with some dots to work with the pattern of the bead, and
then left everything a bright silver to keep it light.
Comments are always welcome… check out StudioDax for more about my teaching, My Jewelry Blog for more on my FSOJ projects, and My Website for more of my jewelry. Thanks, Randi
Week 12 – Cwappy Eawwings
When Remy started the first YOJ, one of the running jokes was "cwappy eawwings." When you didn't have something to post, at least you could do some cwappy eawwings. Well, this has been one of those weeks, and here are my cwappy eawwings.
They are Victoria Gould's yarn balls done in 22g niobium. The tutorial was great and they came out okay, but I need a lot more practice before I'll have the technique to my satisfaction, I can see. Thing is, this was not my first project — several others were even less presentable. Add computer woes — not on my netbook but on the main box machine, and I am very relieved to have something to post at all. If you really want to hear about my week, you can check out my blog, Silver and Crystals and Beads, Oh My!.
Comments and critique are always welcome. Thanks for looking.
Pearl Stick Necklace
Three stick pearls, a peridot and a garnet walk into a bead store…..
I've got nothin' beyond that. Sorry, in a goofy mood. It's dainty, fresh, and not LOS'd!!!
Enjoy your day!

Week 10 – Wire Wrap & Weave Ring
I worked on this ring and redid several times yesterday and still wasn't very happy with the outcome, but feel that I have learned from this and the next one(s) should turn out better. The band is 20g round wire frame with 26g fine silver for the weave, the stone was wrapped with 24g square sterling wire. Anyway, I thought I might as well post it. Thanks for looking, critiques always welcomed.
