Melissa Muir – week 15
Another project for a quick demo on soldering. These are made with sterling and copper.
Week 15 – Handmade silver beads
I’m back after a looong absence. (Since March!!) I thought about dropping out, but decided not to. I am making the jewelry, just not photographing, and my compter got a virus, making even harder to post. Over the next day or two, I hope to publish a few of those makeup weeks to get caught up. Bear with me!
The three larger beads were handmade, the small ones not. I really enjoy the process of dapping and doming and soldering to make hollow beads. Labor intensive, but the outcome is so satisfying.
Jean Power- week 15- large jump ring earrings
This week it was yet more simple earrings.
I was limited to the materials and techniques and it was great fun trying to see how may different ideas I came up with!
These earrings are nice and ‘jingly’ and colourful

Week 15 – Aries Zodiac Sign
Not on theme either…. I made this ring to match my Drop of sun earrings posted for week 12. For this one I used the technique found in my ring tutorial and I have to say I love it in oxidised silver! It’s lemon qtz, smoky qtz and sterling silver
Catching up~Iolite and Sterling Earrings
Well, I have already broken my self-imposed guidelines this go ’round…I’m more than 1 week behind…big sigh.
These went through a few gyrations before they actually ended up as they are now…18g sterling frames, coiled with 28g, webbed/netted in a less than orderly fashion, then embellished with iolite…one of my favorites. I wanted to make my own earwires, but am not really comfortable with that yet, so I used sterling leverbacks that I embellished a tad. I am still a LOS novice, but I like the patina.
Thanks for looking; comments always welcomed!

My Aries though of this design
My husband (who happens to be an Aries) has been suggesting I make something like this for sometime! Sooo ….it seemed like the right time! Pendant Sterling with Iolite and Citrine.

Hourglass
Two days of intensive work and this wide, open-work bracelet was brought to life. Its main element is a beautiful marquis of rose quartz set in a hourglass-shaped form. The bracelet may seem heavy but is, in fact, delicate and feels really nice on wrist.
Oxidised and pilished sterling and fine silver. More pictures in my gallery.
Thank you 🙂

Aries-a little late
Aries was a tough one for me – didn’t want to do the symbol, since it also symbolizes fire thought I would do something with firey stones – ended up with what I am calling a celestial theme – a huge faceted quartz sphere with some rutile in it, maybe lemon, maybe rutilated, maybe dyed, connected with faceted rutilated quartz rondelles and nuggets with swoops of sterling. The necklace is assymetrical – one side sterling one side rutilated quartz beads. Hope some resemblence of a starry night appears to you. This was done the week after carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand. thanks. Janice
