Week 41
Another easy (ok, so I cheat!), but I do love this simple necklace of a big solitary chrysophrase nugget.
Melissa Muir – Week 41
A friend of mine makes fused glass cabs and lampworked beads. This particular piece of glass was not only in her reject pile, but she had thrown it in the garbage. I made her dig it out for me and bring it over. I have to say that this cab is probably one of my most favorite. It has this really dark merlot color and is just BEAUTIFUL. It is wrapped in 14k gf.
Mechanic Ring
My life has been a bit hectic for the last several weeks and I guess things will only go worse – it’s high season for Christmas commissions 😉
I’ve not been happy with anything I’ve made for a long time but this one made me smile – I’ve thought of making a ring joining several simple thin rings with some decorative element and I gave it a go today. Seven thin hammered and polished sterling rings and a wire-wrapped circle joined with a stripe of sterling sheet oxidised and polished until it became shining dark grey. The circle goes around the rings and so this one is a perfect piece for those who need to release their stress somehow 😉 You can turn it around and around 😉 It turned out quite large (US size 10 3/4) and I thin it would be nice for both, women and men.
More pictures in my gallery.
Thank you 🙂

Greece Culture-Ma’at Feather Recycled-Week 41
I’m not on theme for Week 41 but I’m revisiting Week 33’s theme of Egyptian Culture. I had replicated a Ma’at Feather in copper which is the emblem of the Egyptian Godess embodying justice. I thought I could wear it as a pendant until a friend suggested I make it into a pin.
Thus, my pin using that piece. It looks great on my jean jacket. The heart is made my Thomas Mann and was a gift from a friend.

Byzantine Greece
When researching the culture of Greece I found the Byzantine Empire. Immediately the byzantine chain came into play. I used the 14 jump ring byzantine segment for the watch band. In between the segments are links made of furnace beads. Dangles give movement and interest.
She’s A Tacky Lady
The Picasso-like lady is tack fused, not full fused. Therefore, there is a small space around each piece of dichroic glass. I wore a scarf years ago that inspired the design. There is a lot of grinding done with small puzzlelike pieces. I stopped the fusing process at the tack stage. Instead of wire wrapping I made a harness by soldering wires together. After fitting the harness I torched balls on the ends of the wires. There are two jump rings soldered on the back for the cords. This surely is a "tacky lady." The earrings are very light weight.

Rings Again
I have been on a Ring thing for a while so this is what I am showing. The first Ring is my favorite it is done in 4mm crystals and a 10mm blue topaz stone. The second ring is a lesson that shows how to develop a ring in the style similar to a Peacocks tail. The base or ring shank is bradied and the feathers are done in a modefied herringbone wrap. You will need to know how to do a three strand braid, and the basics for the herringbone weave. Thank you so very much C&C always welcomed. Web Site Blog
My Big Fat Greek Pendant by Eva Sherman – Week 41
Well, calling it Greek is a bit of a stretch but……The pendant is an amazonite cabochon accented with copper coils and a few fresh water pearls. The stringing is done on natural greek leather weaving rough cut turquoise rondells between copper jump rings. Feedback is always appreciated, thanks!
Week 41 – Copper/Green Bangle – Randi/Dax58
So this week, I’ve got a little bit bead crochet, and a little bit of
metal work. I used a random alignment of green and copper colored beads
(size 6), and then I made the focal center from a green glass bead and
copper washers. The copper discs make up 2 major elements – bead caps,
and a center "surround" for the green glass. I textured and dapped all
4 discs, then made the center surround by soldering 2 of them together
and drilling small holes thru the solder join to allow for the
threading. The remaining 2 discs were dapped a bit more to create the
bead caps. In addition, I added some small copper coils on either side
of the green bead to keep it centered. All in all, I’m happy with the
end result, and will be creating a few more of the centered components in both copper and silver.
