Waves

A beautiful fordite cab done by dave at bitterbrook.  love this cab!  A very nice setting, which allows the waves in the cab to be fully appreciated.  I am enjoying using the sterling beads as accents on pendants right now!

Sea Foam and Rolling Waves

Here is a piece that was not intended for this theme but seems to fit right in. I may even make a note to myself to re-create this piece and really custom fit the design to the theme of sea foam and waves a bit more.
With all the different styles I like to explore it’s always the simple ones that I’m happiest with……Pearlwave72
This one still needs a clasp which I’d like to custom make…..

Jean Power- week 15

I made this on holiday in Cornwall. I bought the kit last year from Lisa Niven Kelly at Bead and Button and saved it to make on my holiday.
The clasp and the Swarovski sequins are so beautiful and colourful and the finished piece is really lovely.

Week fifteen

070402eand070504e I thought I was going to have to skip several weeks in the YOJ, through one thing and another, but then I had a couple of productive days and turned out a bunch of these little swarovski and sterling earrings.  Decided it was better to put something, anything, in rather than leave these weeks blank.  These aren’t great photos – the colours are all wrong – but I really wanted to get them posted.

C&C welcome, although I can’t imagine any for this (and no, I’m not hinting).  There is a group photo of the lot of them on my journal if you need a sparkle fix.

Rolling rolling rolling… picking up

Theme: Drifting, Sea Foam, Rolling Waves

I wish I lived by the sea, I would have been able to design a Jewel with drifting wood as a focal point. Instead, I am a City girl. I love the sea, especially when it is agitated and mad, limit dangerous. I imagine it rolling, rolling its waves and picking up what lays in the sand. Battering shells, fighting with Oysters and bringing to the sea shore lots of broken shells and pearls.

I have combined these elements and designed a bracelet and a necklace, using sterling silver.

Bracelet_0030cNecklace_0019b I like the combination of the cold silver with the purity and peacefulness of the white elements, which remind me of the "ecume" of the Sea.

Week 15 – Hill Tribe & Seed Bead Bracelet – Lucinda/PurpleRhian

Img_170_2 Something simple this week, it’s helping me catch up, right?! ;o)  Well it might be simple but I have fallen in love with this bracelet, because of the colours!  For more information, please visit my blog.

Week 15 – Rolling Waves – Ellen/rubystar

Rolling_waves_bracelet_2 Rolling_waves_bracelet_clasp_3 Rolling_waves_pendant_and_earrings It took me a couple of weeks, but I finally got to sit down and get this set out of my head and into wire! In one of those "hey, we’re on the same page" moments, I was amazed to see that I was riding the same "wave" as Eni! Just being on the same forum with her is an honor for me!  😉

I do love copper (when it’s shiny…) but I’m a cool colors girl, so of course, I had to use the coolest of blues for the "water."  🙂  Copper and blue look great together, don’t you think?! This piece includes copper wire, Czech glass, seed beads, copper spacers and my own lampwork.

Jusmall – waves bangle

Waves_yellow_and_gold_1 The Earth Bazaar had a massive sale of freshwater pearls a couple of weeks ago, so I went mad and stocked up on lots of different colours of coin pearls.

This is another design from the spring step-by step wire.  This time its by Jodi Bombardier.  I originally made the bracelet in the two shades of green.  It was so simple I decided to make another in the yellow and Waves_yellow_and_gold_2 gold.

On their own, the yellow pearls are really garish and the gold really tones them down perfectly – this is my favourite of the two.

A picture of the green one can be seen on my blog.

Week 15: Lynn

Opalite is also called Sea Opal by some, and I love using these donuts in maille weaves.  This one’s simple Byzantine, used 7mm, 16g sterling wire, and some smaller rings to link them together (I think they were about 4mm 18g). The Opalite looks blue in the photo, but in light, it has some pretty red/pink/orange flashes.  This is really chunky, but very wearable.
