Melissa Muir – Week 22

Amethyst_disc_side  This pendant is made with a beautiful dark amethyst. I wish I could have photographed the color a bit better. I still have a long way to go when it comes to my photography skills I guess.

The metal is sterling silver and the bail is actually cold connected. The pendant can move along the wire. The back end has been flared, but not soldered.

Week 22 – Triangle Hoops

Trianglehoops

These hoop are 18g wire for the base of the hoop and 20g for the part that goes through the ear and with 30g wire I wrapped 3mm garnet beads. I am so excited about these earrings because they are one of the subjects for my first class I'm going to teach on the 1st of August. I am very excited and nervous at the same time. I am open for any tips or suggestions.   Heather

Vines & Tendrils Pendant #1 – Week 22

Vines & Tendrils #1

This piece is a variation on a technique by Margo Farrin O'Connor called the "Reversible Cabochon Prong Setting". I used a carved turquoise cab with 18 ga copper wire.

The Blue Skys

DSCF0151

This bracelet came about because of the stick pearls. I weaved 4mm Iolite blue beads with the 20mm stick pearls using 26g wire. It reminded me of a beautiful blue sky in the summer. Thanks so much Linda C&C Always Welcomed MY WEB SITE

Week 22 Cup ring

IMG_8203_edited-1 I've been working on a bunch of things all at once these days which means I'm not actually finishing one thing a week.  Ah well…

This sterling ring started out as a flat piece of sheet.  I got to play with my disc cutter and dapping block along the way.  I like it, even if it needs a bit more finishing done.

Week 22-Gustav Klimt-Chandelier Madness

Week 22-Chandelier Madness I think these earrings may have looked good on some of Gustav Klimt models.  These chandelier earrings were great fun to make using vintage beads and Vintaj brass components.  They are rather long, though, but fun to wear…yes, I'm keeping them for myself.  They're taken from a design by Kaari Meng from her book French Inspired Jewelry

Week 22: Blue Topaz Sterling Silver Ring

I had made a similar ring long back which got sold. A lovely lady saw
its picture on my Facebook album, and placed an order for it. So here
it is, a beautiful emerald cut Blue Topaz, wire wrapped in sterling
silver, made into this open, free size ring.

Week 22 – Tree of Life #2

Gem tree web

After spending way too much time on the Tree of Life with beaded leaves, I wanted to pursue the parts of the project that were working, so I immediately made a second Tree of Life pendant, this time with jasper nuggets/chips instead of worked components. It is 25% smaller than the previous one, and took much less time. I think there is a lot of potential here, but I'm still undecided whether to keep going in this direction.

Week 22 – Celtic Spiral – Randi/Dax58

CopperFlourish2 I'm not sure if this is "Celtic" or not, but I think it has a Celtic feel to it, at least a little! This is a copper prototype of a new design, and I'm really happy with
the end result. The hardest part was technically designing the bail so
that it was "hidden" – my first tries had the bail looped thru
jumprings that were linked thru the top spirals – not a good solution!
I also tried a variety of center beads – I think the flat disk shape
works best. Next week, I'll be posting mt silver version (I'm sure I'll
have that completed soon!). I'm still playing catch up a bit, but I hope to be back to on time posting in a week or so.

Comments are always welcome… check out StudioDax for more about my teaching, My Jewelry Blog for more on my FSOJ projects, and My Website for more of my jewelry.  Thanks,  Randi
