Melissa Muir – Week 20

CopperearringsThese are just some simple earrings made from copper washers. the goal of this piece was to make it look like it wasn’t ever a washer. 😉 I really like how these turned out.

Week 20: Eni’s Heart tutorial

Yep, off topic, and I am making my appearance after a long time. This is obviously from Eni’s heart tutorial. Had been wanting to do this one for a long time. Then I didn’t want to make anything for a long time. So finally I restarted with this. The stones are Ametrine and Green Amethysts.

Week 20 – Tornado Pendant

Tornado Kathy Frey has come up with some really interesting designs. I bought her book recently, "Elegant Wire Jewelry," and have enjoyed exploring her ideas. This one looks like a tornado, hence the name. She calls it "Inverted Pyramid." The little dangle is an aquamarine bead.

Jean Power- week 20- geometric beaded bead

Nearly caught up!
The next piece in my Geometric Series of beadwork.
These were beaded to match my necklace Gemetric 2.8.2 and feature a miniscule amount of wirework so I don’t feel too guilty about posting them!

China-

WhenChina  I think of China I think dragons, pagodas, red and gold, and rich detail.  I made three pairs of earrings to reflect these ideas.  They are simple, but I like them.

*note*  It’s hard to see because the detail is gold on blue, however, the blue earrings actually have a gold dragon painted onto them.

More of My Sculpted Coil Pendants

Morrisonite_sculpted_coil_white Morrisonite_sculpted_coil_wood Yet another of my sculpted coil pendants.  I’ve been neck deep in custom orders lately and today I just had to break away and make something I’ve been wanting to make.  I wanted to play around with my sculpted coil pendants again, this time working on a symetrical piece.  It’s so difficult to try to get one side to mirror the other.  I managed to get pretty close on this one, though it’s not perfect by any measure.  That’s okay, that’s how ya know it’s handmade! 🙂  I’ve included two pictures here.  The one with the white background shows the accent stones stitched into the frame work better.  The one with the driftwood in it shows off the colors of the main stone much better.  More on my blog: http://deliastonesstudio.wordpress.com/

Glamour

MainCreating this set to match a wedding gown was a real challenge but also a great pleasure for me. The Bride-to-be came to my studio to choose materials and colors leaving the choice of form for me.

The earrings and bracelet refer to the feathery style of the dress and colours of gemstones (citrine, lemon quartz and rock crystal) and freshwater pearls match the colour of shoes and other accessories the Bride will wear during this special day.
More pictures in my gallery 🙂

Thank you,
Iza

Week 20 – China Culture – Lily Magnolia

As usual, I started browsing google images for pics of China and I saw a pic with those trees that have no leafs, just this pink and lilac flowers that look like cotton candy.. and I knew I wanted to make something like that. So here is my lily magnolia necklace. I used pearls, SS and that briolette which I’m not sure whether its rose qtz or pink chalcedony.

Here’s a pic of the tree Im talking about

and here’s my necklace
