Glass by Sam Parcels

To showcase the focal I repeated the ruffle around the green coin pearls and amethyst beads. Coiled wire, sterling silver beads and yellow jade were added to the mix. The amethyst clasp is from Jess Imports.

This Time it’s Personal

I created these intricate ruby, pearl, and citrine earrings to compliment this
beautiful bracelet that I purchased from Susanna Segerholm. Since the
bracelet is so unique, I wanted to create a pair of earrings or a
pendant to compliment it. I had an inkling about the technique she
used, but dreaded the trial and error process.. As fate would have it,
Sussanna created a fabulous tutorial that explained everything.

I'm
a great lover of Edwardian and Victorian era as well as Indian jewelry,
and Susanna's technique will help me create more jewelry designs
inspired by those influences.

Northern Lights

IMG_1729

The flash in this cab reminded me of the northern lights that can be seen in the night. I've added a little basket weaving around the tear drop setting I made for it. It was then accented with apatite, sterling silver and 14k gold filled beads. Also, I've added a sterling silver enhancer so that it may be worn several different ways.

Week 42-Lampwork and CZ Pendant

Lampwork and CZ champagne  Lampwork and CZ purple2

I took a few days off from jewelry-making this week and it actually felt good to let my self relax and just read a book for a change.  But I do have Christmas shows starting in a couple of weeks so yesterday I was back to work.  These are made with lampwork beads by Brenda Hynes of Dancing Hedgehog Studio, lots of 26 gauge wire, and a cubic zirconia dangle.  Thanks for looking.

Black & White Affair

IMG_1713

I had bought a strand of black and white agate nugget beads. In order to enhance the texture in the agate, I framed it with textured sterling silver beads. The crystal is cracked with a matte finish. To continue the texture I added double Viking Knit to complete the length of the necklace. The clasp is from Jess Imports, with a faceted onyx stone.

Art Nouveau

I was trying to follow the theme again, but I didn't really care for Alphonse Mucha's prints of women with long hair:) However his style was very Art Nouveau, and that gave me a chance to work with the same techniques I used last week in the Edwardian pendant. This is brass, sterling, moonstone, kyanite, pearl, gold filled and ocean jasper. I don't really like the oxidized sterling mixed with the brass. The camera makes it look way better than it actually looks in person, the sterling just looks dirty when off camera:)

Week 40 – “Bat Love” Pendant – Randi/Dax58

BatB1 Still late…. but catching up!

It's been a while since I've done any etching, but I taught a class in it last week, and had a blast… so when I got home, I created a couple of fun bats for a little Halloween fun!

Copper bat has been etched, dapped, and antiqued, then attached to leather neck cord.

This one is called "Bat Love" but a warped friend has renamed it "Bat with a Heart-On!" See my other bat pendant on my blog or Etsy store…

Week 39 – “On Target” Earrings – Randi/Dax58

OnTargeta

Oh so late….

These earrings are a project I used for one of my classes – not my
usual style, but alot of fun to create, and they actually look pretty cool
on…  My students like a variety of techniques, so these were created to balance out my metal-only projects! I wanted to create something with color, and I have so many hanks of these tiny seed beads – it's nice to put them to use!
