Rose Of Shannon
I purchased Perri's Rose of Shannon tutorial and gave it a go. The first one I made has the Mercury Mist Topaz stone in it. IMHO…it came out so so. The next two I used CZ's for, and could see improvement. After stabbing my pointer finger several times, and making adjustments…I made the one combining sterling and gold-filled, with an Ametrine for my sister.
Thank you,

Bridal Earrings
I've been busy creating earrings to compliment the Magnolia necklace
I re-created for a custom order. Since this jewelry is for a bridal
ensemble. I created four pairs of earrings for the bride to choose from. Since I don't want to be a blog hog, I will post only my favorite pair:
I uploaded the other three pairs to my Flikr stream. Comments please!
Flying Brooch
Still playing with brooches…. I spent over an hour fiddling with how to set the stone, and then, after almost completed, I checked my sketches and saw I had already drawn the stone setting that I just devised. ((Bonks head on desk…)
Week 47-Gemstone Owl
Something just for fun this week. He's supposed to be an owl but he reminds me a little of a kitty too. I actually alternated rows of garnets and madeira citrines but they turned out to look so close in color you can't really tell. The eyes are green onyx so the color combo isn't something found in nature but that's okay – he was meant to be fanciful. The owl himself is 1 3/8" tall. Should I LOS him or not?
