Week 51-Wrapping it Up!-Twisty Curvy
Although the end is near it seems like the beginning for me! I feel like I've come a long way since January 2008 when I first participated in YOJ2008. My pieces, although very basic, have pushed me to learn new skills and experiment with those skills.
This piece was created without any true plan in mind. The turquoise donut because of it's roughness seems to be a perfect embellishment for this piece. I made a double-sided headpin to attach the donut.

Seahorses
I fell in love with some sea horses on jewelry lessons http://www.jewelrylessons.com/jewel/node/9002 by a very talented artist Pippi, Mine are not as good but I am sure that with time and practice's I can do better. I used 22g wire for the base 26g wire for the coiling and weaving of beads, 2 mm tourmaline, silver seed beads, and labradorite for the tail. C&C always welcome Thank you very much Linda Rosa my web site
Melissa Muir – Week 51
This angel was made on a commission, but then she decided she didn't care for it much. Oh well. 😉 I still think she is pretty. She is made with a carnelian tear drop bead that is so pretty. I love Carnelian.
Denim Lapis Brangle by Eva Sherman – Week 51
Denim being one of my very favorite fabrics, I think this denim lapis brangle accented with sparkies and lots of wire will be living on my wrist!
Week 51 – Kambaba Pendants – Randi/Dax58
This is my new favorite stone – Kambaba Jasper! I think (?) it's from Africa, but I'm not
sure…. I bought a short strand of these pendant beads, and since they
are pretty substantial, I wanted a strong setting. I used some sheet I already had textured (the copper is etched,
and the silver is roll printed), and cut and shaped the caps, then
soldered them closed leaving an open top to allow a free "swing" bail design.
The copper one was my prototype, so I used the "ugly" stone… I wish I
picked a better one, because I really like how it came out! On the
silver one, I decided the "back" looks best with the fold showing.
Comments are always welcome… check out StudioDax for more about my teaching, My Jewelry Blog for more on my FSOJ projects, and My Website for more of my jewelry. Thanks, Randi
New Year’s Eve- Wrap N it up!!!
early! A gift for my sister for Christmas. Now, I only have about 15 more pieces to make by Thursday!! UGGG
A bracelet for a little one
A sweet little 11 year old asked me for a pearl bracelet for her 11th birthday, and here it is. The clasp is Bali. The pearls are fresh water pearls.
Wrapping It Up!
Wrap it up!
Okay…so it's not totally wrapped. But Blaze liked the cab so much he hid it from me under our coffee table. =)
Once I made the bezel…I soldered square 16 gauge wire to the bezel for a contemporary approach. Sterling silver wire was then heated until it formed balls that I soldered to each point.
And since Aden got me hooked on wire wrapped coils…I just had to add one across the bottom. Faceted crystal beads, turquoise and faceted onyx dance from beneath the coil.
The beauty of this piece is that it can either be worn as a brooch or a pendant. I'm toying with the idea of removing the jump-ring and replacing it with a nice lobster claw clasp. Either way it's an easy transition from pin to pendant. =)
Thank you,
Deborah aka Sneekbead
Wrapping It Up!!!
I have learned so many valuable lessons this year! YOJ2008 has challenged me tremendously each week. My creativity, my knowledge and my ability to learn has been pushed, but it has been a NICE push! I have loved every minute of frustration and joy!! This bracelet Wraps It Up in the area of soldering. I fused the cabuchon and designed the contemporary style cuff to personally fit my wrist. There are many lessons contained in this one piece of jewelry, therefore, the title, Wrapping It Up. Any comments or questions are heartily welcomed!!
