Melissa Muir – Week 21

Surpriseoutside
SurpriseinsideI bought the book wrap, stitch, fold & Rivet by Mary Hettmansperger and this was one of her projects. I pretty much used only scrap pieces of metal on this as I just wanted to try it out. I love that book. There are a lot of fun projects in there.

Before and After

My husband bought me this blister pearl necklace about 10 years ago, because I loved the heart shaped blister pearl focal.  I wasn’t going to buy it because I knew I could make it myself.  It turned out to be one of my favorite necklaces though…very simple, but beautiful.  Plus, my husband bought it for me 🙂

Fast forward to last month, the heart popped out of its bezel, it had been glued, and I am pretty sure was base metal.  Finally, I thought to myself, I have an excuse to remake this necklace!  I used Eni’s netted bezel tutorial and wrapped-loop links for the pearls, then added another strand of sterling chain to give it a bit more heft.

Ring of Fire- put it out- Ring of Water

I Saltwaterprincess thought volacanoes, lava, red, red red.  Then I thought, um the Ring of FIre, Savage Earth rings a huge body(ies) of water.  Many of the places listed on the Ring of Fire are tropical, beach, water, shells.  Here is my homage, Salt Water Princess
