Mom’s Necklace – Wk 42
Mom's Christmas Present – Lampwork bead by 2 Women on Fire, Unicorn and quartz bead accents on copper chain.
Week 42-Alphonso Mucha-Champagne, Anyone?
This was really fun to put together. I used some pearls that I've been hoarding for awhile to make a Christmas gift for my friend. The Czech glass beads with the colors of champagne are very warm and elegant. The nugget is Peruvian opal. I wire wrapped pearls and added a gold chain to finish the necklace.

YOJ09-42 Copper Pendants – Dianne Karg Baron
Copper Pendants (2009)
Constructed, hammered, cold joined, heat patination
Copper
Various sizes
Still trying to play catch up on the YOJ, but I’m feeling decidedly
uninspired. So, I decided I’d break out my bench block and do some
hammering on copper. Just playing, nothing serious.
I like pieces that resulted, but realized that some of them resemble
the work of Ann Wylie-Toal, a fellow Canadian whose pieces often look
like gesture drawing.
To add a bit of visual interest to these, I hauled out my frying pan
again and cooked the copper. It’s so much fun watching the metal turn
from orange to brown to red to purple to blue to silvery!
Unfortunately the blue is an oxide layer that wipes off very easily.
Immediately spraying with Krylon would be the only way to preserve it.
Still, I love the possibilities!

Week 42-Lampwork and CZ Pendant
I took a few days off from jewelry-making this week and it actually felt good to let my self relax and just read a book for a change. But I do have Christmas shows starting in a couple of weeks so yesterday I was back to work. These are made with lampwork beads by Brenda Hynes of Dancing Hedgehog Studio, lots of 26 gauge wire, and a cubic zirconia dangle. Thanks for looking.
Black & White Affair
I had bought a strand of black and white agate nugget beads. In order to enhance the texture in the agate, I framed it with textured sterling silver beads. The crystal is cracked with a matte finish. To continue the texture I added double Viking Knit to complete the length of the necklace. The clasp is from Jess Imports, with a faceted onyx stone.
Thank you,
