Not on theme and late, but here is a wire wrapped bracelet that was created using 20g square silver and 14kgf wire.  Again, thanks for looking.

Week 17 – Coiled Two Tone Bracelet

P4280133

The center of this bracelet was from an idea floating around in my head for some time….it finally escaped and I'm glad for it! It fits somewhat snug, but that's to keep the focal coil on top.
Thanks for looking!

Kristen Syddall – An Affair to Remember

Hi again,

Not a great start as I'm late for my second week but computer problems turned out worse than expected and I'm still trying to get it sorted.

Thank goodness for the kids pc's!

Now all I could think of for Affair to Remember was lots of pearls so although not really related, I decided to make a pearl pendant.

And here tis…

Cheers,

Kristen

Week 17 – Lampwork Flower Ring – Randi/Dax58

LWFlowerRing This is a very sweet little ring made with a flower lampwork bead. I soldered a simple band with half round wire, and soldered on a short length
of tubing. Then I added the flower bead and a lightly dapped disc to
the tubing, and riveted them to the band.

Comments are always welcome… check out StudioDax for more about my teaching, My Jewelry Blog for more on my FSOJ projects, and My Website for more of my jewelry.  Thanks,  Randi

YOJ09-17 Chalcedony Effervescence Pendant – Dianne Karg Baron

YOJWk17-ChalcedonyEffervescence Chalcedony Effervescence Pendant (2009)
Sterling silver, fine silver, chalcedony
L 3.0 cm x W 1.2 cm
Cold connected, flame worked

I went to the Toronto Gem Show today – and I was by myself!!  Woo
hoo!  That meant I had the freedom to be able to browse, and chat with
friends, and to shop.  I was looking for some things for my upcoming
classes at Haliburton, but in the end decided that what I’ve found
online is still a better bargain.  But… I couldn’t resist a strand of
chalcedony brios I came across.  In a table full of stuff that looked
like it was dyed, I found one package that had a beautiful opalescent
glow.  So, despite being on a buying moratorium for the past three
years, I decided those beads had to come home with me.  Even the sales
lady commented about the package, saying that if I hadn’t bought it
when I did, it wouldn’t have been around later – someone would have
snapped it up.

Tonight I picked out one of the beads, and made this little pendant.  It looks somewhat similar to the pendant I made in Week 8, so I’ve giving it a similar name.

More photos on my blog, a wrapturous blog.  Comments are always welcome!

Week 17 — More String Art

YOJ String Art 2

This week I made more string art. These are only three examples. I really am enjoying this.

One of the real challenges here is to try to raise the quality level above the "happy hands at home" level. I want the finishing, the bail, the uniformity of the weave, all to be of the standard I would expect if I were working with precious metals instead of just hardware store wire and sewing thread. I am still not entirely happy with the coils. They have to be stretched to work, and I don't yet have the perfect method for getting them really uniform and not lumpy.

For much more, please visit my blog, Silver and Crystals and Beads, Oh My!. Your comments and critiques are always welcome. Thanks for looking.

Week 15 – Woven Amethyst CZ

A large Amethyst CZ framed inside a 28g sterling silver frame that has been woven with 30g fine silver wire.  I attached the rolo chain with jump rings, added a faceted amethyst bead.  The back of the chain has two amethyst beads and a drop at the end of the extender chain of 3 faceted amethyst beads.

Week 14 – Where did the Bunny Hide the Eggs?

Okay well, this kinds looks like a Egg?  It is an unknown jasper with beautiful shades of pink, creams, browns, blacks and whites.  The stone was hand cut and polished by my husband, there are 3 drusy pockets on the face of the stone.

Week 13 – Pendant turned Brooch

Another piece recently made, but still needing the pin back to complete it.  I have been so busy making inventory for my summer shows, I haven't had time to actually concentrate on a specific theme lately.  My original idea was to make a pendant, but as it turned out this is better as a brooch.  Swarovski crystals, cubic zirconia's, sterling silver and fine silver as used the create this piece.  Thanks for looking.

Week 12 – Start of Spring

Because I am late I am posting a few pieces that I made recently but not specifically for YOJ.  Here are a pair of earrings that I made using cubic zirconia beads, sterling and fine silver.  They sold at my last art and wine show.
