Necklace for fundraiser – week 17

Apr_07_260
Not sure if it’s even worth catching up!! I am so far behind. But the baby has cut 2 teeth and is now mobile!! So, the frustration phase is over and I can create again!! My week 17 piece is a byzantine rose necklace 20 g 1/8 rings and 20 g 3/16 (I think) with fossilized coral beads. I am donating it to a weekend to end breast cancer fundraiser in 3 weeks.

Week 17 Jacki / stefannsgirl

I am sorry this is so late.  It was done last week, but I have been sooooooooooo busy and then I had MAJOR computer problems this weekend.  I had to do a complete restore on it so it was down for a bit.

This is a flower weave maille bracelet. I cut all the 16 gauge rings for it. Sterling silver and copper.

As always, comments and critiques are welcome!

Sharks Fin Earrings

000_1423a Sorry to be late, I got the idea at about 8.00pm last night & beaded feverishly till about 10.30 to finish at which point I gave up. I learnt circular peyote this week and have been practising how to increase. I added a ‘fin’ by just working across one side. I made them in these colours to wear with a favourite shirt but I can see them in lots of bright colours to represent exotic fish also.

week 17 – Janice – Resin things

I’m behind in posting even though I’ve been creating – I’ve had out of town visitors and different things going on. Here are three pendants or maybe keychain thingies that I made in a resins class I took on Friday.

Mycircle Myovals

These were made with a pre-fab frame provided by the instructor and then we used wire to make our ‘cells’ and designs.  We then mixed our resin with whatever colors and inclusions we wanted…it was GREAT fun! These pics were snapped in class on the table so their not the greatest, sorry. But I can assure you that you’ll be seeing more resin work from me!

Week 17 – Relic/Stone Pendant – Randi/Dax58

ReticstonesI’ve been trying to combine some different techniques – specifically, I wanted to incorporate some stones into pieces using my “relic” textured silver (which is basically reticulation and fusing). So this was an experiment of sorts… I didn’t intend for it to be a wearable piece, but I sorta like it. I made the relic sheet and the bezel cup separate, then soldered the bezel cup to the sheet – it isn’t easy soldering a bezel to textured silver! Then I added the tabs on the top for the chain, antique finished the silver, then riveted on the top bead and set the stone into the bezel. I’m not sure if I like the tabs on the top – they were not very well, and I may cut them off, and add chain off either side thru holes (framed with tube rivets). If I do so, I may also flip the piece upside down… I’m not sure!

Comments are always welcome… check out My Jewelry Blog for more on my FSOJ projects, and check out My Website for more of my jewelry. Thanks, Randi

Dawn ~ WK17 ~ Fishing For A Lost Treasure

Week17 After last weeks project when I was putting my pieces of scrap wire in my scrap box I found this ring that I had experimented with a while back.  I had tried to just create a ring with pieces of scrap SS and then melt it some….well it ended up in the scrap box.  So I decided to try to rescue it this week by adding some garnet beads, adding some coiling around the beads with some more wire from my scrap box, and then I added some oxidation.  Then I tumbled it…..and its…ok…it looks cute on, and even kind of comfortable on.

Thanks for looking, Dawn

tiny bubbles pendant

This is my take on Eni’s rectangular centerpiece. I used one 6mm vintage Swarovski margarita in Ambrosia, and a 10mm Vintage Swarovski in Sea.  I’ve been hoarding them for a very long time, because I couldn’t find the "right" project for them.

I made the frame months ago, I had the idea to use the margaritas when I started it.  Once I got the frame finished, I wasn’t sure quite how I wanted to proceed so I set it aside. Today I decided to give it a shot.  Img_0573_2

I am pleased with how it turned out, but it still a bit of a rough draft.

Week 17 – Lynette/ lowen56

Week_17_006I managed to stay on theme this week :^)
Scary Sharks or Friendly Dolphins didn’t really rock my boat, so I decided to go with Fishin’.
I
have absolutely no idea what the fish focal is carved out of, but he
was perfect for this week. I actually bought a pair to use as earrings,
but the holes in my ears would end up ginormous – these little guys
weight quite a bit.
I have caught him on a 16gauge hammered hook.
The
rest of the necklace is strung with messy little tangled up "fishing
line" sterling beads, some absolutely gorgeous pottery beads I bought a
couple of weeks ago, black lava beads and matsuno seedies.
Thanks for looking and if you’d like to visit my blog it is HERE. ….Lynette.

Ripples and Shallows, well sort of

Deep_shallow_necklace
I had finished this piece a little bit ago and have been patinaing it since then. This is a photo of unpatinaed, my orangic egg patinaing just does not seem to be work as well on this piece so I may have to go back to good ole  chemicals.
Wonderful Black Lace Agate wired and framed with some onyx and herringbone. Lots of silver wire and fun.

Week 17 – Melissa Muir

Week17yoj
Well, it isn’t on theme, but I like it regardless. 😀 This one was very difficult to do and it is the only piece I have really done all week. The frame of the teardrop is 14ga round wire. The scrolly work inside is 20ga round wire. The back plate is copper that has been textured and the entire piece took a dunk in the LOS.

I did my best to remove the LOS from inside the frame, however, the spaces are so tight that it is impossible to remove more than what I have with my current tools. I did wear this today to church and got several comments on it. That is always fun. 😀

Any suggestions and comments are always welcome.
