Week 48 Oxidized ring
I have showed this on the forum this week. But I decided to show the finished result here. I used Iza’s Ethnic ring tutorial to make it. It’s made with all fine silver wire and small Rhodolite Pink Garnet faceted rondelles. Than I oxidized it. I still need to learn more about the sanding and polishing after doing the LOS thing. But it is the first ever ring I made myself I actually like. I’m now waiting on my wire order to make me some more rings :).
Week 47 – Melissa Muir
This pendant is a special one for me. It is an angel in Gold Filled. The stone is a beautiful faceted Botswana Agate.
The reason this angel is special for me is that I have made it for a cause. As many of you know, my daughter Kelsi was born 4 months early and died just a short 2 1/2 days after her birth. She was born on December 30, 2004 and died New Years Day 2005. She would be 3 this year.
To honor her short little life and hopefully raise some awareness of Pre-eclampsia and how serious it can actually be, I am going to be doing a fund raiser for the full month of December. Any of my angels sold during December, I will donate a full 50% of the purchase price to the Pre-eclampsia Foundation in Kelsi’s honor. I hope that one day there will be a cure and no other mother or baby will die because of this horrible pregnancy complication.
week 48 – Hammered cuffs
Some final pieces before a show this coming weekend. In their former life the wire in these cuffs had been beaded 14 gauge sterling silver neck wires. They weren’t selling, so I took them apart (because I was out of 14 gauge wire) and created these fun, simple hammered cuffs, lol! Some I put the hammered side out, some I put the hammered side in. We’ll see how they do!
Week 47 – Blue Patina Bracelet
One of my favorite materials to work with is copper pipe from the hardware store. I hammer the pipe around a mandrel, texture with a ball peen hammer, saw and file to shape the ends. Then the real fun begins. I cover the outer surface with layers of patina. To protect the surface I use a few. coats of spray lacquer.

Sometimes the best made plans don’t go the way you want them to or expect them to…this was the case with the pendant I created. =)
Initially the base was cut from 22 gauge sheet with both sides being the same…identical. I then soldered 20 gauge square wire to the outside edges in order to frame the piece. The next step was soldering the bezel wire onto the sheet. However when this was done the bezel soldered onto the sheet slightly askew…thus the beginning of the need to alter my design.
After some naughty words and scrubbing the suggestion to toss it into the scrap and start over…I decided to make some alterations. I cut away a section of the bezel wire to rid myself of the part that became flawed when trying to reheat the piece. Don’t ask. Also I removed part of the sheet metal from yet another mishap when reheating the piece.
To give it some dimension I textured the lower portion with my chasing hammer alternating with punches. It cried out for LOS…and I think it needed it. On the back is a fairly substantial bail so that it may be worn on the largest of large Omega necklaces.
Thank you,
Deborah aka Sneekbead
Week 44 – Eni Oken
Ok, worked on a bunch of these Rainbow Wrap Rings. The ones shown here include the stones: sunstone, aquamarine, rhodochrosite and rutilated quartz. For more pictures, go to Journal: Rainbow Babies.

Week 47 – Blue planet – Ellen/rubystar
I guess I’m on a Euro 4-in-1 kick lately. I had two bracelets in that weave ordered recently and I just kept weaving!
These are actually more in the "purple planet" vein than "blue planet," but close enough! 😛

Week 46 – Stones abide – Ellen/rubystar
I chose these earrings for this theme, because of the stones — fossil coral. Certainly these stones abide through time. I wonder how long it took for the little creatures to be embedded into stone. How cool!

Week 45 – Layers – Ellen/rubystar
This bracelet was sort of a custom order by a woman who wanted to buy a very similar bracelet of mine in the gallery, but it was too small. I didn’t have exactly the same parts this time, so had to make a new one in her size. I hope she loves it!

Week 44 – Moonlight Sonata – Ellen/rubystar
Wow, am I behind! Here’s a pair of earrings that sold mere moments after I dropped them off at the gallery. Love that! 🙂
Euro 4-in-1 with moonlight-catching Swarovski drops. Yum!
